I think it's pretty clear that none of this is due for 2015, but is implemented in the next version.

As a side note, it would be cool to be able to subscribe to the blog, so that we don't miss any new post...

The information in the blog is about 2016 and beyond. I believe the 2015 cycle is done.

Another factor is that for most of us using LightWave - or any other tool for that matter - coming back to LightWave, in whatever capacity, it will not necessarily be exclusively using 2016. It would be reasonable to expect a process of porting assets into 2016 and continuing there, if I am understanding. That is unless 2016 has Modeler and a new Layout. But even then there would be a transition period over a few releases before everyone could convert to starting and finishing in 2016. At least that is how it seems. I may be reading something into it that is not there. I guess if they have managed to do this in the way described in the blog they could have completely removed only the things that were finished and left the other parts intact. Either way it will be a process over time to completely revamping LightWave.

This blog brings back the passion I lost
Thanks Rob, I look forward to seeing what comes next.
For the rendering engine, we need fast GI, fast AA, GI that works well with animation, faster nodes (especially blurred reflection), tone mapping, micro poly displacement.

I'd rather want robust, simple and effective foundation than fancy stuff.

Lovely to hear some enthusiasm and passion for LW's future. Really looking forward to seeing these changes. Would be nice to see if there were any animatable parametric controls for modelling in Layout, LWCAD in Layout even, loads of possibilities! I'm getting ahead of myself - well done LW3DG!

Rob - this is fantastic. Congrats to you and the team.
Sounds very much like you are going in the direction that Surrealist and I have chatted about privately on skype for a few years now.

Can't wait to see this come to fruition!

Excellent to see your approach to the development of LW2016 and thank you for sharing it with us, instead of leaving us in the dark. Great to hear what you have in store for us.
