Importing Object files.....3ds and .obj format
I am having problems using the import functions for alternative formats. With .3ds format, I get a message that no layers are present and the import process shuts down. If it does manage to import, when I try to render, I get a message that no bones are in the object and the render process shuts down. If I add a bone to the object, then it renders. The .obj format is highly consistent. Both of these started with version 11.5 or immediately after adding the 11.51 and 11.6 updates. Prior the that, .3ds and obj were much more consistent
I've seen before comments that LW is aware of a problem with the formats. In the current form, these files are unuseable. Does anyone know what the status is in getting this corrected?

I could try a converter we use alot. It seems to work on a lot of things...

I use PolyTrans. It's a bit expensive but does a great job on all kinds of things. I'll PM you to continue talk about local stuff.
