Sorry that this is not a Lightwave support question, but I was reading about Genoma in the 11.6 addendum and I would like to learn it, and to have some fun while doing it, I would like to rig and animate a Cylon Centurion from the Ron Moore BSG. I found one but it's not that great, it has a lot of triangles which I read are not ideal for anything. Does anyone know where can I find a decent model for free? Of course I'm not expecting something with the same quality of the Pierre Drolet original, but at least one made with quads, even if it doesn't have any textures.
Also related to this, my short experience with character animation is with the ACS kit in Modo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYOKI0xfLiM for my first attempt), but I assume that rigging a robot must be way more difficult because it's not just a matter of setting up bones, since the robot doesn't deform like a flesh character, and the different parts in the arms and legs have to be static. That means that each piece would have to be in its own layer, right? Can anyone tell me of a good tutorial on animating robots?
