Any advice when trying to interface with Daktronics Scoring Hardware?

We are looking for the most efficient way to interface our 455 with Daktronics scoring devices.
Is LiveText the best way to go?
We would love to get the data directly from the scoring device but I am sure there are a plethora of options to do so.
Anyone have a working solution that they would recommend?

Or solutions they would NOT recommend? ha ha

    Thanks!

    Hi Andrew.

There is no way to connect your Daktronics equipment directly to Tricaster.
You need to have a separate LiveText station for that.

    Here's what you'll need:
    1. LiveText computer.
    2. Daktronics All-Sport CG (http://goo.gl/DhYHs)
    3. DB9-to-USB cable (http://goo.gl/X0Z72)

After you have all the equipment in place, you should do this:
    1. Connect your Daktronics All-Sport score box (5000 or 3000) to the All-Sport CG. That can be done with the 1/4" TRS to DB9 cable that comes with the CG, or wirelessly if both devices support it.
    2. Then, connect the All-Sport CG to the LiveText computer using the DB9-to-USB cable. Make sure you install the cable drivers first.
    3. Finally, you'll need to set up the LiveText DataLink software to the proper settings based on your sport, etc.

It's not that difficult to make it work. Send me a Direct Message if you'd like to set up a call. I'd be happy to talk you through it.

I figured out my issue finally.

I upgraded to LiveTXT 2.5 and now Datalink and LiveTXT aren't communicating

Did you mean that you upgraded your LiveText to 2.12, or your All-Sport CG to 2.5?
Both should have the newest versions to allow them to communicate properly.

Any information on how to connect Livetext to a All Sport 4000 controller?

Having trouble finding a place to ask my question, so posted here: http://forums.newtek.com/showthread....=1#post1367536

Thanks, and sorry for the cross post. The forums are quite scattered, especially for a VT user with a question also applicable to TC users.

Unfortunately, Daktornics's All-Sport CG does not support the All-Sport 4000. Just the 5000 and the 3000.
The only way I know to convert a All-Sport signal for DataLink/LiveText usage (besides an All-Sport CG) is using Daktronics' DSTI computer and accompanying signal converters.
It might be easier for you to use a different scoreboard setup instead of DataLink. Perhaps something like Graphics Outfitters' OCR or ScoreMark.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but this is the most relevant one I found via Googling for my answer!

If I convert the serial feed from my Daktronics 5010 to IP, can I run the signals thru multiple Ethernet switches to get to the final result?

I plan to go DB25 to DB9 out of the Dak Controller. Into this Serial to IP converter Then that signal will be ran thru three switches before reaching the final destination where I will use a Cat6 to DB9 cable into my PC running Graphic Outfitters Scorebridge Mono.

Will it work or does the signal get lost running thru that many devices?
