Camera tracking and keying

I downloaded a clip from here and tracked it with VooCAT. Just finished keying it. Fairly tedious work, but the results are worth it.

Yet another item on my list of backlogged video topics.. I want to make a review of it. But here's the short version:

I like it. For the price, it's good. Don't expect it to handle anything you throw at it because it won't. But once you learn it's quirks and know what sort of footage to feed it, it will serve you well.. At least as a stop-gap until you can afford something like PFMatchIt or PFTrack.

Perhaps... A friend of mine bought SynthEyes and had a most unpleasant experience with their customer service... So SynthEyes would be a last resort option for me.

hm, well, customer service is one thing, quality of the app another...
SE seems to be fairly good documented, so not really sure if that weights enough...

unpleasant CS tells me little, could be his own fault, or not...
or just a bad CS day...

This is what happened.. His SE stopped working. Apparently it has a DRM measure where the user has to periodically contact the makers and ask for new codes to continue using the ap. That in itsself is enough to put a bad taste in my mouth.. But when he called up for re-activating the software, the guy urged him to purchase the latest and greatest upgrade. And when he said he wasn't interested in the upgrade, the guy gave him attitude.

the render looks great!
bit gliding going on though... but that's VooCAT...

I animated the VooCat scene parent null to compensate for the gliding.. It's pretty good now. The green bit in the last half is the original render.

btw, be sure you don't have 1 frame off...
