    Question Goal objects not moving w/parent?

    Hi. Regardez-vous si vous plait le attached jpeg.

    The Wing goal objects are parented (children of) to the STORK MASTER MOVER null, but for some reason they are not moving when the parent is moved.

    I thought it might have something to do with using "Keep Goal in Reach", but that doesn't seem to be the case.

    Clues? It's kinda stopped me dead.

    Question KEEP GOAL IN REACH >>was<< the culprit, but why???

    OK, figured out WHAT was the issue, although the logic evades me. Perhaps Rebel Hill can enlighten me:

    I was wrong in thinking that KEEP GOAL IN REACH was not involved. Once I turned it off (coulda sworn I tried that), the Goals started following their parent.

    Now, could someone explain the logic there? Usually I think of KEEP GOAL IN REACH as, well, keeping the Goal within reach of the Bone chain, but obviously it interacts poorly when the Goal is the child of a moving item.

    keep goal in reach is usually better left unused, its only in very few specialist situations ud ever want it.

    However, in 11 some of the interactivity speedups have been made by deferring certain evaluations... so this does work with goal in reach on, just not interactively. Its gonna be changed back in sp1 though.

    Rats! I found it (KGIReach) to be a useful crutch. --So, if one frame-advances, the goals jump to their proper locations?

    ::check check check:: No, that's not true. So, what do you mean "just not interactively"?

    I forget the exact points, but if you move other things, or something, motions do update... anyhow, just ignore it, it'll be fixed. But even then, its really not much use save in very few situations, I certainly wouldnt use it on character rigs.

    Curiously yesterday I wondered if use it or not. I thought it was useful to keep the goals fixed to the bones when using FK but it doesn´t works without IK and now I see RH says not useful for character rigs.
