21 meters long 2,6 high poster printing

Hello Guys, I have this superlong poster to be printed, it is going to
be an artistic installation cut into several panels. One panel is 2 x 2,6 meters.

The graphics is purely vector on a blue background but the BG is a bitmap.
So what is the best way?

-Doing the thing in illustrator and I place the bitmap under the vector so the line
quality can be as good as the printing machine is capable of ?
or
-Doing the panels in Photoshop and making one approx. 10000 x 15000 sized.
I would do it in PS because I am not that comfortable with AI.

Thanks for any advice.
 
its best to do it in adobe indesign, in 1:10 ratio (as the program dont allow for such a big document), dont do it in photoshop, you will lose the vector quality
 
Northlight Images has an article on making a 14m print & various issues & problems with Photoshop, not easy & the file size needed to be reduced.

Illustrator is amazingly old school, it's a different galaxy.
Like, you cant resize the document. You define a new artboard or copy paste the stuff to a new doc. C'mon.
Things like not being able to export cropped PDFs. It is soooo strange. Why Lightwave dont support more vector graphics inside modeler.
Or NewTek should release a vector app. I'm pretty sure it would be better than that terribly difficult illustrator.
Somebody told on these forums that corel is better, I wonder.
I should try perhaps myself.
