Hi all,
I have two things I can't figure out:

1/ I have setup a perfectly working screamernet2 between 5 computers, but all animations are saved in seperate frames. How can I put these directly into an animation?

2/ I want to create a brightly lit comets tail (like in the intro of st:ds9 or armageddon), but I can't seem to find it. I was trying it with particlestorm2, but without much succes. Is there a tutorial or something for this?

1) multiple computers cannot write to the same file at a time. This has nothing to do with LW but is a classical computer problem. That's why you cannot save aniamtions using screamernet. There are a lot of free tools that can do that. All commercial compositing/ editing packages can handle image sequences and convert them as well as free tools like VirtualDub.

2) The easiest way to achieve the effect would be using ParticleFX in combination with HyperVoxels. Since you talk about PStorm 2 I'm not quite sure if you are not using a too old version of LW. However, even the good old 5.6 had HVs.

you can also compile your frames in LW. Load the sequence and set it as background image in the comopositing tab, set your camera to the same resolution and render to an avi or what ever.

I think I'll go for the tools to convert the frames to animations, seems easier when you have 500+ frames ;) I'll try out virtualdub first, any others that are pretty good?

About the comets tail: thx, I'll try again, but a tutorial still would be much appreciated

(BTW, I use LW 7.5)
