I have 2 new dongles. I would like to get the hardware lock codes for them. I am a freelance animator, and bring my dongles to many jobs.

The problem I seem to be having, is that the only machines I can get the codes off are already running LW. With the old style dongles, you could just erase the license.key file, place the new dongle on, and viola! new hardware code and 14 days.

I seem to only get the hardware not found error. I have gone so far as to do a total uninstall of LW and the sentinal drivers, and a fresh install, but this has caused problems trying to get the old dongle to work on that machine.

Have tried on several machines, but am not having too much luck... Anyone have any ideas?

You probably want to download the latest drivers for your operating system from the rainbow.com site and install them. From the MSI installer, you can choose whether to install USB and/or parallel drivers so choose both. You will need to have your dongle disconnected before doing this apparently. Reboot and then attach your dongle once you have logged back in again. At that point, they should be detected. The USB dongles will appear as USB tokens and if you have serious problems with them, a look in device manager under the my computer/properties/hardware tab might be helpful in uninstalling any orphan entries and getting the system back on track again.

Relocate the license.key file from LW's programs folder and fire up LW to get the dongle codes reported and that really should be all it takes. I am not sure if there is anything in the customer support FAQs that would help further, but it may be worth speaking to NewTek or your dealer if none of this has helped.
