Can anyone point me to a method for iporting an object sequence? I have another app that I exported a sequence of .3ds files. i want to use them like frames and replace one object with the next on a frame by frame basis. Any one give me any help with this?

Do a search through this group. Basically you give all the objects the same name & then number them with the frame you want them loaded, i.e car_001, car_012, car_100
will load the car objects at frame 1, 12 and 100.

apparently lw 7.5 doesnt use this plugin, only lw 7 under OS9. This MUST work for me. IT WILL work eventually.. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION. Can anyone helpe me out with an object replacement script? I have one, it just doesnt compile correctly for some reason.

If all else fails you could just edit the scene file and make the changes there.

Cheers,

I hate to differ, but when the object replacement issue was first raised earlier this summer, it was tested and does work under OS X 7.5.

What you need to do:
1) Make sure your objects are names for the FRAMES they will load into. According to your list, you are loading a new object every frame.
2) Load the first object into the scene.
3) From the object properties panel, select "Object Sequencer" NOTE: the UI will not update, but the plug-in is loaded.
4) Preview the scene (or play the scene with the controls in Layout).

The sequence should now be loaded and work correctly.

I dont see the plugin in my animate dir at all. It didn't even come with my installation disk. I don't know what thats all about. I am in LW 7.5 on OSX. no objrep.p file is on my computer at all. I have LW 7.0 installed as well.

I think 7.5c was when they finally added it to the OSX version. (I'm on 7.5c, and it's right there in my Plugins:Animate folder.)

yeah, It wasn't there, I re-installed it from the CD.. and bang.. there it is. It still isnt working properly, after about 15 frames it goes to hell.. oh well. I am trying a new aproach.
