Hi All,

I have a project where I have a simple object and the colour is controller by an envelope to create colour shifts.

This all works fine, but the last thing i need to do is change the object to a nice Gold, but this involves allot more factors than just the colour.

What I have tried is to have another object hidden, then fade one in and the other out to reveal the gold, but its not giving the result I want.

Does anyone have a quick way I could produce this result with a nice fade? Or should I just keep trying to get the reveal of the hidden object more to my liking?

I can think of two answers... When the object is supposed to become gold, render 2 passes of the anim, and do the fade in post (fg and bk image sequence in Compositing tab will do this, and uses a simple fade on the fg image...

Also, remember that all ot the attributes that make the gold texture (ie: relfection, diffuse, spec and glossy) anre animatable as well. A simple opacity envelope that you copy and paste into all of those texures should do it.

I think the composite might be easier.

Now thats the answer..a nice quick composite! I really didnt want to have to animate all those channels.
