Lightwave will not start up at all after installing the Motionbuilder 5 dongle.
There must be a conflict of OS X dongle drivers between lightwave and motionbuilder 5 or something (the dongles look the same, if that means anything). I am really in trouble now. I've tried everything: remove dongles, reinstall lightwave. Trash preferences. Nothing ! I have a production coming up next week. What now ?

I don't know anything about MotionBuilder, so I can't help you with that. If both of these packages use a USB dongle, then you probably have a version conflict with the drivers. Removing Lightwave won't fix that, but try this:
1) Log in as an administrator.
2) Browse to /Library/Frameworks (from the root of the disk)
3) Look for Eve3.framework
4) Burrow into the Eve3.framework to
Versions/A/Resources/ and open the Info.plist file. Look at the bottom line (actually the line <string>000</string>) to see what version is installed. LW installs version 2.2.0-05. If it's different, try removing the entire Eve3.framework and reinstalling the sentinel drivers from the Lightwave CD.

um...what version of MB are you using that has a dongle if i may ask?
is it the full $3000.00 version of the software?
i only ask, because the MB Personal Learning Edition version is activated via a SN#. There is no hardware dongle.
I'd acontact Kaydara to see if they can sort this out for you. For $3K, you should get quick and informative service. They may be able to troubleshoot the situation since they probably have LightWave on a couple of their dev machines. :)
Good luck.
