how do i hide the hair guide so nothing shows when using sas
when i render. i just want the hair to show.

You can make the guides 100% trans, and this won't effect the sas render. Also, I usually have the guides in a different layer ( of motion designer) and "unseen by camera works as well.

I wouldn't use trasparency rather I would use the object dissovle in the properties panel.

I suggested the trans option is the hair chains were on the same layer as the head.
The unseen option could cause a problem if you are using ray tracing, in that the chains would show up in reflections etc, while the sas hair won't...
Still if you aren't using those options, unseen is quick and easy.

You could also untick the checkmark for the hair-layer in the scene editor, which will take them completely out of the render. Yet since Sas is imagefilter it will still render. So no need to worry about what options to untick in the object property panel.
