I've been doing test renders all day, and suddenly LightWave refuses to save renders. I've tried both F9 and F10 renders. The images show up as being saved on the hard drive when the "save as" diologue box comes up. But once I go to finder to actually open the image, it's nowhere to be found. I've tried a restart, and nothing. I've tried a search using apple-F and it can't find anything.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? I'm hoping this won't require another reinstall.

Thanks for any help.

what kind of file are you saving?

I've noticed that lightwave Just Plain Dont save certain file formats. Its a stubborn little ...but i digress ;)

some of the plugin file formats especially the tiff and pict formats, have done exactly what you are describing here.

Once i had a problem with this, I just found the format that always works and stuck with that... LW_TGA32(.tga)

wont save from where?
are you trying to save from the image viewer dropdown?
or from render options/output files/save rgb?
if you do not have save rgb selected/and a directory/filetype specified
it wont save squat.
have you installed anything new lately(software)
might try repairing permissions(disc utility).

I'm saving from image viewer. I've also tried rendering the scene, with "save as" set to go. I've tried several formats. First it was psd's, when that stopped working I tried png's. That worked once, and once that stopped working, I then tried bmp's, and now nothing works.

I've installed no new software. Everything was working fine up till today.

Thanks for the input. I'll try repairing permissions first chance I get.

try reloading your i/o plugins.

also, no format is safe! For ex. I've had more problems with tga than psd.

btw, the jpeg i/o plug-in is buggy, delete it and the QT plug-in will handle jpgs better.
