Hey Guys,
I've been wanting to upgrade our chassis and MB for a while.
I am looking at a Supermicro 4u CSE-743t-645b
With an Dual zeon quad core MB. I like ASUS use them for everything, but I am open to suggestions.
Any Help is greatly appreciated.

That is a pretty nice case. We use them at times. Just make sure you order the rack rails if you need to rack the case. Also make sure you have the right version for either SATA or SCSI drives.
We have moved to the more robust version of that case that has redundant power supplies.
I agree on liking the ASUS stuff. I have an i7 based system to put together first of next week that will be using the new Asus mobo with the PCIX slots. Pretty rare to find a mobo with those on a single processor style board. We will see how it goes. I hope that the PCIX slots will give me a little more bandwidth for the VT card.
The big thing to consider when building a VT now is exactly what you intend to do with that system.
Live Switching? and to what extent
Post Production?
both?

Jeff, what difference would you design into a system that will only be doing post production work as opposed to one being built for live switching?
Just hammered by lighting last Thursday night,, now am in a rush to rebuild to finish a bunch of work.
Thanks, I value your opinion highly.
