is there any way in layout 9.6 to mass replace objects (and clones of them) with a hierarchy of objects? as an example, some cubes which are placed on a terrain mesh, all oriented to the normals of that mesh, have to be replaced by a hierarchical structure consisting of a null with attached 2 other objects.
background is that i have to place 500 animated rigged objects on a complex mesh surface. the only way to do this in layout seems to me to place proxy objects first (i'm using veggiepaint to do so), then replace all those proxies with the animated rigs.
is there a native way to do this effectively, or any plugin?
