he's not supposed to be a drag queen but i suck at texturing. I'm still working on that though. C & C welcome and appreciated.

Well, if you don't want him to look like a drag queen, you could change the lip color to a more natural color. You should remember that the reason our lips our reddish in color is because the skin is thin and we are actually seeing the color of our blood. So adding a bit more red in there(without taking it to the other exteme of course) would be helpful.
If you haven't discovered the joys of the Inside Lightwave books by Dan Ablan (either 6 or 7 will do) then I recommend you find yourself a copy. In there he does some pretty basic texture map painting and application. Both books have the same chapter covering organic modeling.

so i softened the alpha mapp for the lips and it help to make them less defined.. i lowered he specularity and added a touch more red and i'm much happier with the lips but still not there.. i can't seem to find the right RGB for the lips color.. if any one has any good RGB suggestions and overallsettings suggestions i'd appreciate it.. anyays.. here's an update..

still too much specular on the lips I guess, try to decrease it more÷
and for the color it's also still too pink and too light
I of course don't know your current value but try that kind of increment :
R = - 10
G = - 5
B = - 8
…and so on until you get the correct tint.
this is to show that at least if you agree that :
- anyway all values need to be decreased (to get the lips a bit darker)
- but R and B need a bit more decreasement as the current pink saturation is too strong.
hope this helps

by the way if you find too difficult to play with RGB values
you can try a different way :
in the LW color picker play (mean decrease)
the lightness and saturation of your color instead of changing
RGB values… you may go faster this way.
