I want to put together a system which will, at specific times of day, randomly pick 20 video clips from a specific bin, assemble them into a sequence, and play them back automatically through whichever video out.

This random-clip picking would need to happen 10 times an hour, 8 eight hours a day - preferably without supervision.

Would it be possible to teach a VT3 to do this? If not, does anyone know of any digital video playback device which could be taught how to do this?

I eagerly await Knowledge :D

Bog,

If not VT[3] (through scripting or something), check out the Edirol "shotbox", DV-7 and DV7PR combo at http://www.edirol.com/products/video.html

That's basically what I'm asking - is there scripting control available, and does it grok the clock? If so, then getting the VT3 to do what I want is just a case of pounding the keyboard.
