Hi there, I'm new on this forum and I allready have a question!
I'm working on a crow carying a chain in his beak. Now I want the chain to move/swing when the crow is moving. Problem is, I have no idea how to do it. Do I need to use clothfx for that? Anyone knows a tutorial for this?

Look at Protons demo video with clothfx and hardlink. The one with the monkeys. Although metalink will probably work for you aswell since it'll be hard to see whether those tiny chain links are intersecting and deforming anyways.

EDIT: Nice character btw. The eyes position looks abit akward though.

Sweet! Thanks! I checked the video, and going to try it later! Looks pretty simple. About the eyes, yeah they look a bit at the wrong position here. But it's because of the camera angle I think. at other pictures they look good.
Don't close this thread yet. It will probably have some more questions!

Wasn't there a scene included with LW that William did? It was a wrecking ball smashing through a wall. I can't seem to find it anywhere, but I remember seeing it. It uses the same techniques as the monkeys if I remember correctly.

is the wrecking ball through the wall not from the Lightwave book, Essential LightWave v9?
I think,

Could have been (I've read so many LW books!) I subscribe to books 24x7 and they have downloadable content, so that could have been where I saw it. I'll have to sort through all my backup CDs to see if I can find it.

Allright, I have been messing around with clotheFX and stuff, but I can't seem to get the swinging of the chain right. It is just bending to much! and it is moving to slow. If I use FXhardlink it is breaking appart my chain into different peaces. If I use FXMetalink it is also deforming the big golden cylinder. Check the video, it just looks weird/unnatural!
