Ok Im trying to make a strip of polygons unfold from 1 another.
basically I have a single strip of 4 polygons. I want it to start with 1 poly and have the 2nd unfold from it, basically opening like a book, than I want the 3rd to open up from the 2nd and the 4th from the 3rd so it looks like its unfolding. I know I can key frme them to do it in layout but is there a way to do a morph of this move ? I plan on doing a big wall of these so keyframing eachone will be a pain and Id also have to have a ton of layers. Ive tried to do a morph while rotating each poly to fold down to the next but when I put it in layout all that happened was it look like it grew out of the other polys rather than unfold. Any suggestions?

morphs don't work in a radius.

points only move in a linear line

Other than keyframing or bones (even more tedious) that's all I could say

Morphs only record linear movement...basically, they say "ok...Point A was here at 0% and needs to be over there at 100%." The shortest distance between two points is, as we all know, a straight line, and that's how morphs are interpolated.

It's possible to get around this somewhat by setting up intermediate morph targets and going from the base state to the intermediate morph to the final morph. Multiple intermediate morphs can also be used, but this can get pretty complicated and is often more trouble than it's worth. In your particular case, I'd probably try setting up a weight map for each part you want to unfold, then just set up a chain of bones and unroll them to give you the unfolding effect. Might take a little time to set up, but it shouldn't be too difficult. :)

There's a non linear morph plug-in, here's the link.
