Hello together

A few weeks ago I did an image named "kirchweg". But I never was very glad about it (specially the lighting and the church), and I never posted it into a forum except on renderosity. So I decided to rework the scene again. This is only an early work in progress, but please let me know what you think so far. Specially I would like to know what you think about the lighting.

Thanks for viewing.:hat:

I like the overall mood, reflects well the mood of Germany, the always wet, moody weather with the hint of some sunshine but on the other hand it's also very straight.I would make it more twisted and used, collapsed a bit downward. I just can't explain it more, you live there...
Great wall textures btw especially on the walls, but more irregularity, macro and micro level.
But the lighting is quite ok, I mean it's always like that in Germany as far as I remember, that you can never be sure if it shines in the next moment but finally it just starts raining slowly but sdeadily...

Wow, nice textures. I'm missing a horse and wagon there... :) It has this "CG" mood - realistic, but not completly (don't get me wrong, it looks great, as it's ment to be this way! it has this "Witcher" / "Diablo" cinematics style), I like it this way. Very nice work!

That looks great Sven. Could be something really special with some atmospheric lighting (maybe try a hdri probe?).

Those propped shutters give a nice touch of drama to the composition and the modelling and texturing are excellent.

I love the dull, desaturated-ness of it. Nice work!

Nice atmosphere and mood. The timber frames stand out for me. Its all too straight. These houses were built from green wood that was cut by hand. As you say its a wip. If it was me I would subpatch those timbers and start moving them about a bit.

Hey, nice piece so far. And I like the new version alot more. It gives the eye a place to wander and makes the shot way more match a crooked winding street imho. And it gives the usability of some faint fog I see, nice :)

Some things that struck me:
-What is all that white stuff? I thought ice at first, then bird poo. But if it is bird poo, it is waay to evident imho and seem to suggest some massive poobirds :) I mean, on the house in the middle far away? That must have been one Moa on that rooftop :)

-The houses are absolutely huge. From my recollection, almost all houses are waaay thinner, some as thin as a mans reach. Most uberhouses were afaik situated on bigger squares in better areas with a tad cleaner streets. Also, the big houses had the money for better fronts I think, these have their window shutters bashed in..

-Maybe add some smoke rising etc?

All just my personal opinion ofcourse :) I may be far off.. :)
