"Legend Of Zu" from Tsui hark. Yes, itīs style over content, and a lot of the fx are cheesy. But what do you expect from a movie in which EACH (i kid you not) sequence is a special effect, composition or pure 3d.

Inspirational fun. And some of the scenes made me wonder why Xmen didnīt use the Angel character for budgetary reasons. Here we are treated to a heroe with organic metal wings.
And it looks actually really good when he shoots metal feathers/blades. Told ya, many elements are lifted right out of american pulp.

Superheroes galore, 3d sceneries, flying people and Kitsch Kitsch Kitsch LOL

Ahhh, grab the popcorn, babe, iīve got the cheese.
:D

I am Hong Kong people but not really appreciate Tsui Hark "Legend of Zu". Because "Legend of Zu" is a traditional chinese story.....But you expect that organic metal wings in that?

And what they do in "Legend of Zu" I think just they want to promote the "so-called" Idols... not enough acting and FX are just additives at all.

I may be wrong but I THINK I remember Foundation Imaging doing some FX Shots on that. :)
I may be thinking of something else but Im kinda sure.

Larry, this may very well be possible. The movie has some american producers behind it. And many fx, like magic blasts and explosions, look very Hypervoxelish (ha, created a new adjective here LOL)

Dick Ma, you are right. The acting is minimal, the storyline very confusing, and the fx overblown. There are scenes in which i couldnīt tell whoīs fighting who and for what reason.

If i where to recommend a good Hong Kong fantasy it would be "A Chinese Ghoststory" or "The Bride with the white hair".

But hey, if you want 90minutes of beautyfull digital imagery "Legend Of Zu" is the way to go.

And man, the metal wings DO look very cool!

Maybe i am too good at shutting of my brain down when it comes to movies ...and Haegen Dasz...and chocolate... :p

And now....

Hong Kong People doen't like Jacky Chan as b4 due to HK politics and his personality problems.

His movie Medallion now makes a relatively low profit in hong kong (I think most of his films are 'clown' acting, not kung fu, sorry). Bad comments from his films, or personality are discussed in Hong Kong forums.

If you like Hong Kong, love Hong Kong movies, I recommend Chow Yun Fat. Only him can represent HK.

I go to movies to be entertained. If I based my movie going decision on an actors political views or other things I would probably never see any movies. I like Jackie Chans over the top style. Its fun to watch like a rollercoaster. I also like Chow Yun Fat. :)

"Fallen Angels" is the best HK movie in my book.

Legend of Zu? Hmm, I'll check it out.

Now for a REAL treat, check out The Returner (http://www.returner.net/).

It's fast and over the top. Oh, and a bit of Lightwave.

Thx. Lamont. Always good to get recommendations on this kind of entertainment, since itīs almost imossible to keep up with the sheer quantity of stuff coming from "over there".

Hard to seed out the (many) good imaginative asian "treats" from the senselessly ultraviolent, and in consequence, bad ones.

One thing that always intrigued me is how seemingly uncensored movies made under an (IMO) opressive regime are possible at all..

But then again, Hong Kong still seems to be quite liberal compared to the mainland.

To get back on topic: What was LW used for in "Returner", Lamont?
