Is anyone using Motion Builder? There's a freeware version on this months 3dworld cover disk (1 year license, with a good deal for 5.0 upgrade) I'm not finding much in the way of resources for moving stuff between LW and MB. Anyone doing this, or know where to find info?

Thanks

There are some relevant posts on cgtalk and kaydara's forums as well as a few at 3dbuzz.com

You can go to Kaydara's web site, there they have dozens of VTM's on MB. The VTM's cover mostly Maya but there's some pretty good in depth stuff there.

The version on the 3dworld CD is 4.02. The magazine said there would be a special ugprade offer of $199, but that was before the announcement of 5.0.

Although it's a little more expensive than Kaydara, I personally prefer Project Messiah (1.5.7) and just recently Messiah:animate 4.0. It takes all of about 5 minutes to learn how to setup and animate bones (and become fairly proficient at it too!). Overall messiah's interfaces just seem more intuitive than Kaydara. 4.0 adds a walk generator and automatic rigging too.

When you upgrade from PE you get ver 5.0 . I'm unfamiliar with Messiah, but MB also has lipsync capability. MB isn't too terribly difficult, just the same as in many new applications, learning your way around.
