View Full Version : Missile doesn't stay rotated

I've set the Heading and Pitch Controllers to be 'Align to Velocity', so when they are animated, they automatically face the direction they're going, only problem is is that when they hit the ground they stop, and when they stop, they no longer have a direction to face, so they face 0 degrees, which is pretty much the worst angle it could revert to. Missiles slamming down sideways is not cool...

Is there any way to make it use the previous rotation if the velocity is 0?

Can't you just rotate it manually? You'd be done by now.

Well, the solution is very easy, instead of Align to Velocity, use Align to Path ;)

Oh, I missed that, F_GX is right.

D'OH! Didn't even see that option. Oh well, I did something instead I probably should have already done (made a plane for the ground and added a front projected texture (the image sequence) to it, so now the smoke doesn't float under the ground anymore, and it covers up the missile).

I'll keep that in mind though.

EDIT: Oh and I couldn't rotate it manually before because the way I had it setup was it would start up out of frame, come down, out of sight, then jump way back up to the top again, so the same missile (but let's not spread that around) hits like 30 times.

Ha! That's always the biggest problem with Lightwave anyways
