I watch HQ animation, specially "metal surface" and the head surface bump was interesting, nice "scratches".
Can you give us more info about surface bump?

It's very simple; there are 3 procedural layers for the bump (I can't remember if it was turbulence or crumple) Each one is scaled small (maybe 100mm), except for one axis, which remains at 1m.
Procedural1 is scaled large on X
Procedural2 is scaled large on Y
Procedural3 is scaled large on Z
So it ends up being a sort of groovy grid all over the surface.
