If I render an animation to tiff files the edit them in FilmGimp how will I compress them to DV format to cut/edit in FCP? I have FCP3 and Quicktime Pro. Are there any tools to do this on Mac, if so are there any command line tools?

Import into QT Pro as image sequence and save as a MOV, or DV format.

Cool, Thanks!!
I never used any of the QT Pro features, only had cause FCP3 say I need it.
Just another monster to learn about I guess.

Quicktime Pro is not hard to learn.

There are a lot of features in QTpro that not many people know about.

Go to the Quicktime website (linked below) and click on the 'Tutorials' section:

Adding a text track to a Quicktime video is a cool feature. You type some text in the Text Edit application, you write the timecode that you want it to appear, and it'll pop up in your movie at the times you specify.

Thanks for the help.
Now if Cinepaint was quicker on my Mac, things would be almost perfect.
