Hi all,
Just upgraded to VT3 (well, two days ago) and am having some serious issues with lpyback and the DDR modules.
We use the system for live switching (6-7 hours a day, 7 days a week). Part of this 'show' is a great number of video clips that we produce during each week and playback live to support the content of the show. (for more info you can check out

There are archived clips on the media pages to give you an idea. It's live glassblowing basically.)
Anyway, these clips are shot during the day and then edited in Final Cut and exported into the VT box as AVI files with DV compression. This worked *great* in VT2. We would just drop them into a DDR, and away we go, no break in the show and people love it, they can see what was happening earlier that day if they missed it.
But, VT3 won't playback these same files. In fact, no AVIs at all, with any format or codec I can export with in Final Cut. Won't play quicktime movies or dv streams either. When we drop an avi in the DDR it goes to an hourglass and hangs. Very bad for a live application.
I've talked to tech support, and uploaded a file for them to play with (

Warning - 150megs
) but haven't heard back.
Any ideas? Suggestions? Workarounds? I have all the win2k updates, and the newest directX installed. Like I said, worked fine with VT2. Also- keep in mind I can't just export to tape and capture directly in VT since I can't tie up that box during live operation. Trust me, the show requires constant switching and even loading new media is troublesome.
And also- why did the scroll bars disappear in the CG player? Can I have them back please?
Sorry for the verbose post, and thanks for your help in advance.
