hello all, m building a new system, and wat to choose my vga, but dunno what to choose btw 9800 gtx+ and gtx 285 since i dnt know the difference for the 3d and cad work.
xfx 9800 gtx+ 512 mb 256 bit:
Core clock: 785MHz
Stream Processors: 128
Memory Clock: 2340MHz
DirectX: DirectX 10
OpenGL: OpenGL 2.1
OR
EVGA GTX 285 SC Edition 1GB 512 bit
Core clock: 675MHz (vs. 648Mhz standard)
Stream Processors: 240 processing cores
Memory Clock: 2538MHz
DirectX: DirectX 10
OpenGL: OpenGL 2.1
OR
EVGA GeForce GTX 285 SSC Edition 1GB 512 bit
Core clock: 702MHz (vs. 648Mhz standard)
Stream Processors: 240 processing cores
Memory Clock: 2646MHz
DirectX: DirectX 10
OpenGL: OpenGL 2.1
OR
XFX GeForce GTX 295 1792MB 896 (448 x 2)-
Core clock: 576MHz
Stream Processors: 480 (240 x 2) processing cores
Memory Clock: 2000MHz
DirectX: DirectX 10
OpenGL: OpenGL 2.1
I see that price is going higher for higher series and for higher stream processors, even if it have less core and memory clock, so the question is what do we need, more streaming or more memory????
the choice should be for CAD and 3d operation, speciallyt autocad, photoshop and lightwave, hope that someone can shed the light on how GTX 200 series may be better for this type of use over 9 series
P.S.: could someone know why GTX 280 have higher price than GTX 285
