Render Freeform OBJ Files

I have modeled a cup in FreeForm and would like to bring it in to LightWave to render and animate. When I bring in the obj file into LightWave the triangles are rough and hard to smooth out for a nice clean finish.

Can some one help or advice if there are certain settings when exporting my model, and importing into LightWave? Or does LightWave take other formats from Alias?

Please advice at your earliest convenience since I have a very tight deadline.

coupla quick suggestions:

1.) have you checked the Smoothing box in the texture editor?

2.) if that doesn't get you all the way there, try sub-patching the object. if it's not too poly heavy, this should take you across the finish line.

3.) do a little dance. get down tonight.

Does LW handle 3 sided polygons or do they need 4 sided?

3 sided polys are fully supported, but they don't smooth as well as 4 sided. If you try sub-patching and it's not smooth, try catmull-clarke sub-patch instead.
