Is it possible to use an image in Modeler to create a shape or multiple shapes?
For example; if I had a photo with no a black ground, and the image had multiple White objects on it. They could be anything. And any number of shapes. Is there a tool in modeler that will find the edges of the shapes on the Image and create Polygons in those exact shapes?
Sort of like the wand tool works in PS.
Thanks to every one

I dont think so.

But you could use photoshop to create paths around them (magic wand then convert the selection to a path), then export the paths to EPS.

Load the EPS into modeller and it will then convert it to polygons.

TrueArt's Modeling Pack http://modelingpack.trueart.eu
has legacy interactive plug-in called ImageForm
It's analyzing images for front, top and right sides and generate 3d object

Thanks that got me into with an object and i have just cleaned it up. Now I need to select all the points in order to creat the polygon. But there are a crap load of points. Is there a way to auto select them?
Thanks
Scott

as skonk said, use photoshop, make mask (either with magic wand, or select/color range), then in paths palette up right is an icon with arrow and couple of lines.. click that, make work path.. then export / paths to illustrator... it does not offer me EPS (CS3) only ai, but when you export it to Illustrator 3.. then eps loader is able to import them.. i used this technique to make some cracks on the ground (i needed model for animating and close renders).. grabbed texture from cgtextures.com.. little levels adjustments in photoshop... and then in lightwave i ran it through hard fx simulations with whatever effects i wanted.. saved transformed.. copied, flipped, smoothshifted, pasted, merged.. and i had believable model of some cracks flying around.... then maybe use dponts edge node (in dponts / shader after installing these nodes).. to bevel out the edges

.. easy way toselect only "edge polygons" is before smoothsifting select all polygons with 4 points and tripple them, then after smoothsifting select all 4point polys and assign them new surface.

sometimes some shapes does not display correctly (cause of wrong automatic teselation).. so i take knife and knife everything couple of times horizontal and vertical vise (julliene does not work for me in this case, as any other boolean and/or drill operations.. maybe too many nonplanar polygons or just too complex shapes?) anyway... then triple all>4point polys

.. when importing curves.. select only closed polygons from dropdown menu
