View Full Version : Sprite HVs with Radiosity

A friend of mine said that hypervoxels don't work with radiosity. Is this true? I have had some scenes with hypervoxel sprites crashing my Layout.

But then with some scenes it seems to work without a slightest failure.

If I can use at least few HV sprites, that would save my day (and my scene).

Sorry, I meant, "hypervoxels don't work with radiosity cache".
If I try to render with radiosity cache, Layout crashes. Is there a way to solve this problem?

I would like to hear someone else's confirmatio, do hypervoxels work with radiosity cache?
I am getting successful results at least with the low resolutions.
I must confirm though..

I made a test.
Here it is: http://www.hanamiweb.com/video/vecchiohit_dyn_test.mov
I am getting splotchies on the upper wing surface.
Would someone recommend a workaround?

RU using static or animated cache? Do you still get splotches with cache off?

I use animated cache. I increased angular tolerance to 10. Now it seems almost clean. I use backdrop only radiosity.
So I think its safe to say that at least sprite HV is compatible with radiosity in Lightwave.
Right?

I dont know what all settings and whatnot are going on in your scene. Am not sure what you are intending with radiosity or animated cache. Animated cache usually only takes longer to render and may not make an appreciable difference with typical camera settings, but I dont know what your intent is.
