Thought I'd give this great little tutorial a heads up.

If you've ever wanted to unravel an arrow, ribbon or streamer, here's a great way of going about it, courtesy of our very own LightWolf!

The files are at the end of the interview.

The link to the interview is here. (http://www.newtek-europe.com/uk/community/lightwave/wolf/1.html)

This is pretty cool.

The arrow is animated with a combo of inertia displacement and a weight map on the inertia.

This would be a great way of doing a reveal.

Use the alpha channel of the animated ribbon to reveal a terrain or surface in a different state. I.E. a plague of locust ravaging a field, a paint gun spraying a fence, lasers buring text into metal.

You could even set a polygon with the same set up under the back wheels of a 4x4 going through mud.

Really cool stuff.
