So i brought back a couple of my car models I made months back. I wanted to resurface thema nd put them into a new scene. Tell me what you think!

Btw there is an anti-aliasing problem in the 2nd image.... will fix later

I see fprime... i don't think that this a good idea in car renders. You should try rendering in LW native renderer, with a simple surface setup You can get realy nice images. Fprime is fast and it's good to test the surfaces or in some non-reflective situations, but i wouldn't use it for any types of paint - too much noise. Have You tryed the carpaint shader ? For a studio setup You should use lumi-boxes or lumi-plates, or a nice HDR made specialy for studio (search for this on deviant, there was a guy who was giving these for free... realy great and usefull package :) ). Nice models, i think they would do great in the exterior! :D DEBICA tyres... it's a Polish company ;)

try Kray to render , but as for work flow , your models are wicked and well detailed .

I like very much :P

Thanks guys!

Heres a small update... started to build the interior.... the surfaces are very basic... just getting a scheme going and there are still a ton of details to add!

YES! I'm soo freaked about KRAY !!! Definetly if You didn't try it, kray is a No.1 must try things in LW. The interior is looking nice, could use a bit more detials though... :D

I don't see what's good about these images. Everything is way to dark. and why don't the cars fit the image? The models don't look like models from Ferrari or audi....just a bit.
Try to fit you cars nice in one frame. Put a light in your scene put a good carpaint on there etc

I thouht the goal of the forum was to help people so they can make things better. If you want feathers stuck up your *** what are you doing here? I'm just getting tiered of people who say things are good if they just aren't.

I believe all I said was thanks and we can leave it to that. If you want to be immature about it then just leave. You dont have to post anything.

Your right this forum is to help people. Its so you can give constructive criticism about their work. You should try it instead of being a dick about it

There's a difference between saying something constructive that helps someone better their work and just being downright rude. Learn the difference!

3dgfx studio has by far the most contructive feedback. dont get all butthurt over it.

the suggestions to try kray are stupid. its not the render engine you use, its the lighting and surface settings. i think that straight LW render engine is good enough. if those are rendered with fprime i dont see any noise issues.

yeah the illumination sucks here, try some more lights, use the carpaint shader and maybe turn on GI and throw some bounces around. your environment needs a good image map to reflect. try an HDR image mapped on a sphere, or atleast a skytracer BG. 90% of car paint is reflections. and dont forget fresnel. if you dont know what it is, google it, although i believe that the carpaint shader already takes fresnel into account, use dielectric for the glass. (but you should at least look up fresnel just to know what its all about, its important to understand how light behaves even if its dumbed down for you)

sorry but i dont give compliments unless you deserve em :)

I like the models and I apriciate the work put in this project. I remember some of my old models and time spent on building them, soo Julian just doo Your stuff and don't bother with this crap.
