Exit from envelope mode?

A stupid question. Once I have clicked on the envelope button for a parameter in the surface editor, it is possible to come back to the numeric insertion mode?

Ahhhh a classic LightWave gotcha!

The number of times this is run into surely means there should be a "Remove Envelope" button on the graph editor! (Still keeping the Shift + Click shortcut naturally)
