Just a friendly reminder to all you Colors! peeps!

Do yourself a favor:

Drag the contents of your microSD card to a folder on your system as a backup.

Today I was making one of my "best" little colors! creations to date when colors! threw up some error during a save. No problem I though, I'll restart- I've only lost a bit of work since I last saved to two different slots.

Nope- received a "can't find _DS_menu.dat error". OK, so I went and looked at the microSD card on my computer to see if I could just put in a new _DS_menu.dat file. YIKES- I should have done a screen capture, but needless to say EVERYTHING was hosed! Totally corrupted beyond repair! Gone are any painting and animations I didn't save...

So- do yourself a favor- back up your little system every so often- you never know when you'll get "corrupted"!

Yikes! Sorry to hear that.

I think I've had that happen to me once before but luckily I copy the entire Colors! directory from time to time to my laptop.

I know Colors! is technically capable of storing 99 or so images, but whenever I get to about 25 or so images, I move all files to my laptop and start the Colors! directory clean again. This is mostly because I lack to patience to scroll through all the images to get to an empty slot when the list is longer than that.

I also keep a second MicroSD card with just my favorite images installed--this one is just for showing off Colors!, not for new sketching.

thanks for the heads up on this...luckly for us the micro sd cards are REALLY cheap now so backups on sd/pc is easy
