I've used it with all the LW 9 versions, including various 9.5.1 builds. It's very temperamental, crashes often and I occasionally have to re-install it, but ultimately it does work.

Hello...
A few months back I became interested in the idea of working with Mimic as part of my Lightwave workflow...
I tried the demo, but was not able to get it working properly with LWave 8.3, 8.5, 9.2 or 9.3...instead of giving up, I decided to take the plunge and actually purchase/download a complete registered license of the tool from Daz3D; my hope was that a guaranteed clean copy with no restrictions behind it might work better than a crippled demo...
well, I was wrong...but only at first...you see, it still would not work with the various versions of LWave mentioned above...then I decided to launch 9.5 and give it a shot...
It worked! Perfectly. Not a single hiccup, not a single crash, many dozens of successful uses at this point all in 9.5 with not a single twinge...
the only catch for me is that our team is using 9.3.1 for all animation and rendering on the current project...but, honestly, it works just fine to use Mimic in 9.5, then export the resulting Morph-Mixer data for use in 9.3.1 - that is what we're doing on our show, and the skies are all sunny and blue in the world of Mimic...
I highly recommend this tool and can vouch for it's stability when used in 9.5 for creating morph mixes to be loaded back to your character in scenes without the Mimic plugs active, whether that be in 9.3.1 or 9.5...
The interface is cool, and though primarily designed for auto-generating lip sync, the non-linear editing style approach to mixing morphs is really cool and intuitive with clear and easy to read visual feedback that makes using sliders and graphs seem barbaric...
ONE CAVEAT: I would not use this for hero animation in key dramatic sequences...the auto-generated movements are a bit stiff, and the resulting mixer data places keys on all frames, which means adjusting it after the fact either requires going back to Mimic or spending a good bunch of time in graph editor clearing out a majority of the keys...for up close moments with principal characters stick with the more traditional methods or your movie could end up looking like one of those video game cinematics where everyones' faces appear somewhat paralyzed...
Good luck!
