I've created a object file on the mac and want to render on the PC. I've been working cross platform for a while but my biggest object file was only 2Mb. I now have one that is 7Mb and the PC just doesn't see it, even if you go open from Modeler. If I select "all file" it sees it but cant open it. If I get properties it doesn't say it is a Lightwave Object files, where the other objects do.
Any ideas ? Works and renders fine on the Mac.
is ".lwo" at the end of the filename?

yes, has the .lwo at the end of it's name. I've also tried saving as different names and directly to the PC (from the Mac).
no luck
that sucks - if it did load, you might still have problems like I did -
there was something about opening LW files in a text-editor and changing all the "/" to ":" I think MLinde has the answer -

for the benifit of others... I copied and pasted the object into a new object and saved it and it worked fine. It seasm the file just got corrupt to the PC
toby, that deals specifically with scene files. objects are binary files, if you open one up with a text editor be prepared to wait for a long time, and expect it to be corrupt after you save it.
riprod3, good to hear, I had just about exhausted my expertise in this area ;)
I'll remember that, thank you
