Display problems? Adobe Gamma, (autoinstalled by Photoshop) could be your problem.
I wrote here a long time ago with a display problem that happened on 4 different machines, 3 different OSs, and 3 different video cards. It was driving me crazy.
The problem was the ITEM PROPERTIES box not showing up for Cameras, Objects, Lights, etc... It would come up as a blank window. I'd have to hit it AGAIN and AGAIN and click all over the place to hopefully get it back. This happened a *LOT*. 7.5b update seemed to help a bit, but after installing 7.5c it was back again and VERY frequent.
The problem seems to be the ADOBE GAMMA software, which is autoinstalled by Photoshop. To disable it check your STARTUP folder in Win2000 or in Win98 / XP go to START > RUN > and type MSCONFIG ... and you can uncheck it there as well.
I disabled this software on two machines and this problem so far has stopped happening on the two machines!!! (Both machines had current drivers and current version but still had this problem.)
I am sharing this here so that it might help someone in the future who has a problem.
ALSO >>>>>>>>>>>>>> The redraw speed of Lightwave in general was SIGNIFICANTLY sped up by removing Adobe Gamma... though I never noticed a problem in any other software.
SO, even if you're not having the window problem you might try removing Adobe Gamma for a potential workflow speed increase.
