View Full Version : 24hr Podcast Huge Success due to Tricaster

This morning I completed the second annual 24hr Podcast. Where I stream for 24hrs straight from my studio here in Hawaii and have people join me throughout the 24hr period.

I want to congratulate the Newtek team. The tricaster streamed flawlessly for 24hrs straight. Directly from us to the good folks at Ustream.TV. We had over 15,900 people view the stream in the 24hrs with peaks as high as 700 people.

The video was flawless and people were simple amazed. I used three cameras and one thing that would have really been cool is if you all could have native PIP. Man that would have made it even better as local guest and those that connected to me via skype video we could have PIP the two of us and made it just that much better.

So my vote for #1 feature request is PIP!

Otherwise the cost of the unit has paid for itself from the 2008 Podcast Awards and the 2nd Annual 24hr Podcast

Could you post a link to your podcast, so we can check it out?

There are 24 seperate segments I have to get web ready. So it will be a few days before I start putting them up online. www.24hrpodcast.com is where the archives will reside.

Merry Christmas to all from Denmark
I just have a small question. What kind of setup do you use:
Tricaster - Computer - Ustream ..or ??... Still cannot figure it out..
How do you log on to Ustream and get it to recognize your output.
Best regards Erik

Erik,

I am working on a tutorial video that will be out after the first of the year on using your TriCaster directly with Ustream.tv.

Great news Geeknews!
Erik, I think people have had best luck with a "Push" stream if that helps.
Zane, aren't you working through the holidays? :santa:

Great,

I am assuming the setup would be similar if not the same for the VT5?

With VT5 its even easier.

How many of you would be interested in a LIVE training seminar on using Ustream with your VT5 or TriCaster that would allow you to call or skype in with questions?

I'd love to see it Zane, I've been laying out different approaches to do that just this week.

Since we will be purchasing a unit next month I am definitely interested because live streaming will be one of our major activities.

We created our own PIP for the Tricaster Pro with LiveSets using Lightwave 3D. It was quite simple to do. With the Free download for LiveSets it took me only a few minutes to create, and your options are pretty much limited by your imagination.

Zane

Webcasting a tutorial on webcasting? Isn't that going to create a disruptive ripple in the time space continuum thing?

Count me in...

I am editing together a video tutorial for using Ustream with TriCaster as we speak. Hopefully it should be online by the end of this week.

Before I came to NewTek, I was an editor. I am currently testing encoding settings to deliver the best looking output possible so stay Tuned.

That's it.

We have been able to do this for a while. I think what they are going to announce is something else. What has recently broken is exactly what they are showing here.
