I crashed the truck into the patrol car, and it looks pretty good I think!

It really looks great. I think POV or OS from inside the patrol car as it collides with the cement truck would be awesome.

I am rendering it from several angles, those 70's car movies often showed the crashes a few times from different angles. I don't think I will blow it up, I'll do that later on some other wreck.

It's looking damn good! The road texturing is excellent.

Some critiques...

When the cars touch, the bodies should angle up at the suspension slightly for a little more realism. Put in some sparks as if the hubs are grinding together!

I think a really good camera angle would be at ground level as the cars race by. Either in the middle of the road or on the side - with a little camera shake as they roar by.

Nice touch with the chute from the concrete truck coming down. A bigger trail of sparks there would be perfect too.

Awesome job shrox - can't wait to see more.

Thanks Hopper,

The truck cak flips forward, so that is where some of the energy is expelled, the car does angle up a bit. I watched a crash scene over and over, and pretty much copied what I saw there. No fireball, but I might add one anyway.

That is pretty damn awesome actually!

What were the average frame render times?

NICE JOB SHROX! I'm impressed. The animation on the cars was good, but I think your camera work was your strongest point. Lighting wasn't bad either.

I tried using HardFX for the breaking glass, but it just wouldn't do what I wanted. I ended up making a hi poly glass object, then scaled it while scaling the poly size and using deformation, as well as a HV object. looks good from a distance but not upclose.

The renders take from 8 mins to 2 hours with all the volumetrics in a few scenes.

Cinematography and editing are my favorite things, I like making events and cuts in time with the music.
