Can you have an object in MD detect collision with more the one object? I have a project were a piece of rubber balloons around one object then that object and the rubber moves a given distance. Then the rubber object hits a different one and I want it to conform to that shape. I would like to post an animated gif but I am not sure how to get the animation into gif format.

I am not too sure wot exactly you are looking for, or how the objects and such are looking to conform to different shapes. I'm sure thats wot others think too. You could post screen shots of each bit or if you want you can give me the files and I will convert it to an animated gif for you, and give u it back,

I had a stupid problem with MD once. I was trying to animate a bowling ball knocking down 10 pins, as a sort of introduction to MD sort of thing.
My ball would knock down the first pin, but the other nine would move as one body, even though allt he pins had the same setup. I never did bother with MD after that, decided to concentrate more on developing my modelling skills rather than dynamic simulation.
I suppose you could argue my comment isn't very constructive, but oh well.

I was thinking maybe a morph target to conform to the contour of the other object. But I don't think that would look natural.
