Since I reinstalled VT4.6 I after I work for about an hour or more I get a
error message that says something like Cache error or limit.

Is there a place I need to increase a cache setting?
Thanks

Don't think we can set a size for the VT cache Ed. Check where you've got the cache set in Prefs and make sure you're not running out of room there. It uses whatever space is available at that location until it runs out of room. I put mine on my video stripe set.

We have 2 striped arrays. For larger projects we direct the cache, (in prefs) to the drive that doesn't hold the video. Can't say for sure if we get better performance, but it makes sense that it would.

:dito: Exactly. I see that Cache needs a place on a system, where your not fighting Cache space with VM/PageFile.sys and source video files. Writing to a raid would be the best, but any slave drive with enough space will also be suitable. Even to use that Cache drive to send a final render.

Yes, I don't think there's a way to select a cache size limit - but you can set where the cache is, and that's key for good performance.
