very nice design, reminds me of my little town where i grew up and it was the only theater in town.
the only thing i have is the front sign looks more like a photoshop paste on image than a real rendering of a real 3d sign. the image needs reflection, translucency and light emitting from behind it. might also reduce the glow effect, might be a little too much. even fro macross the street, you should be able to read the signs.
keep us posted on updates,
Paul

Paul, agreed! I will try and fix the flat look. Thanks. Thanks to all who responded.
Think more about colour combinations, these colours seem very harsh together. The tree in the foreground looks a bit strange, it looks more realistic than the rest of the image.

Riki are you talking about the red on the theater? What can I do with the tree? I like it there but perhaps it's to sharpe? Maybe if I blur it a bit?

the banners are too bright and intense....
and try little harder to model the bushes.

I would tone down the Radio and Repair sign... it is less important than the theater... The red lettering and the front sign... like mentioned... There is also this 'red box?' near the entry of the theater... [Edit: ok, its a booth, it's a bit dark at the bottom, I would expect things to be pretty light in the entrance...]
Perhaps some of these brass crowd control posts with red velvety ropes between them? Not sure if you know what I mean...
I like the surroundings and small town look! Reminds of a theater in Burlington... ;)
i just read RICHPR's last post (which Burlington?) and took another look, and remembered that the last time i saw an old theater like this, the entire bottom of the sign was covered in little bitty light bulbs. the darkness at the front of the booth is what brought this to mind, however, i can't swear that all old theaters had that feature.
Hi Tony, yeah the tree is distracting because it's sharper than everything else which makes it the point of focus.
I think you could create a better mood with colour, thinking about colour theory and what kind of atmosphere you want to create. At the moment you've got a lot of primary colours and green which all sort of clash and fight with each other for attention.
