I am using lightwave 8.5 and trying to use a panoramic spherical map that I created in Vue 6.5 Infinite. I get the map to load correctly, but I end up with a very small black hole at the zenith. I'm not sure if Vue is not correctly creating the map, or if it is LW. This most likely would not be a concern, but this is an animated sky for a full dome planetarium sequence. I have tried the Vue forum and nobody seems to respond. I was hoping someone here could help.
Thanks,
Troy

Please post pic of render if you can and a small scale version of the map.

Here is the dome master (with hole at zenith) and the spherical map that I used to create it. I hope this helps.
Thanks,

Have you tried looking at the image in Photoshop to make sure there are no stray black (or dark) pixels at the top of the image? maybe they are blending together to form that black circle?

That would be my initial thought, perhaps there is a single pixel black line along the top of the image?

I could not find any black strip or the like at the top of the map in Photoshop. I have tried a variety of things in Vue with no difference. I even tried mapping the image to a sphere to see if it was a problem with the textured environment and I still had the same problem. I'm at a loss.
Thanks,

Try setting the image map's tile modes to Edge instead of Repeat in the texture editor.

I have the map mode set to spherical and do not have an option other than the width and height settings. It seems like the map that Vue is outputing is a few pixels too short even though it says it's rendering a 2:1 ratio.

I finally got it! I needed to uncheck the "pixel blending" option. I don't know why that worked but it did. Thanks to you all for your help and suggestions. We have a great user community!

Is there an alpha channel in your image? Do you get this problem with other images?
