Save settings

On one of our VT systems we are still running VT[4] and a stand-alone copy of SpeedEdit. Every time we open SpeedEdit it reverts to default preferences and to rendering projects as Flash files (.flv). A couple of the preferences are dissimilar to what we want, and we definitely don't render in .flv format (we use .avi/SpeedHQ).

How do we change the default settings and/or save the last preferences we used?

On our other system we run VT[5] with SpeedEdit "built in" and we don't have this problem.

In our case, if you set up your prefs and close clean, i.e. without a crash, all those settings come up the same when you re-boot. I just opened SE on my laptop for the first time in weeks and it came up as last used including having the last 6 edits available in the "open" pull down tab.
Maybe it's an issue of opening VT4 between SE projects???

Doesn't matter which we open first, nor does it matter whether the previous close was clean or not. Still reverts to the defaults.

I have been run into this with the localization file changed (global.loc) by editing some lines in it. That might make the SE unable to change project settings, some render format lost, unable to save new prefs...etc.
I suggest you reinstall SE and update it to v1.5.5 and try it again.
