Hi I am going to model my first ever head after spending a while just getting the courage and learning lightwave... Im using a drawing I have done as a reference to my model... I will scan the drawing as soon as i am able. However here is the start of my model... I start from the eyeball and work my way out. Is this unusual?
Also if anyone can help me with the eyeball in regards to the modeling and texturing etc of a realistic looking eye like many i have seen on this board.

Your eye has a lot of character. It's not easy to tell without any reference, but it would appear to be going well so far. Might I suggest http://members.shaw.ca/lightwavetutorials/characters.htm for most of your modelling quandaries. Also any of Dan Ablan's series of Inside Lightwave books should be immensely useful. In his head modelling tutorials he also starts from the eye and works his way out.
It's any eye? Sorry took me a while to see it. At first I though fabric or the top of someones hat. I'm sure it will be clearer when the rest of the face is added.

Hmm... That would make good fabric...
Edit: Now that I think about it, I also feel that I should point out that if the eyeball is remotely spherical then it has no chances of fitting in it's socket. You should use an actual seperate sphere (with modifications, of course) as the eyeball and fit the socket around it.
Edit: Or is that what you did? NOW that I look I can't really tell. Strange. Well, on this point riki's comment applies, and I'm sure this should clear up very quickly as soon as more geometry is attached.

ok ive done some more work on my first ever head and its coming along ok... still alot of tweaking and stuff to be done... and im going to repaint the eyeball textures because the veins looks crap... need more feed back though cause i dont have any reference anatomy or anything so im going from what i think looks right but not exactly like a human head cause i want the guy to look unusual.
