OK I know this is such an easy thing but I am stuck. I am creating a robotic arm. I have divided the arm up into three seperate objects so it can bend at its joints. I AM NOT USING BONES. I have set up the proper heiarchy of the objects. I set the end of the arm to have a goal of a null object. when I do that and move the null around the arm does not move. But, if I rotate and move the arm's individual segments it all moves exactly they way it should being parented. I dont want to have to do that I would rather just move my null to control the arm but cant seem to make that work for some reason.

I am using LW 9.5 on a PC 32bit.

I know I am just missing something small and simple I am sure. Thanks in advance.

Set the goal strength to something like 100 and make sure you have IK set up for those rotations in the Controllers and Limits Tab of the motions options. If you can rotate them, likely it is set to keyframes and not IK.

You are right I found it myself a little while ago. I had the rotation set to keyframes instead of IK. Thanks again!!
