Hi Tricaster users,
We at GurwinProductions are excited to announce the next-generation in our high-quality sports character generator software. Over the last year, our flagship software has been used by high schools, colleges, and even this past week in a professional context at the World Cup of Paintball.
All Pro versions of ScoreKeepr now ship with a fully-featured stats management program, called StatKeepr that lets you store player information before the game, so you can easily call up stats, bios, etc. on your broadcast. It even allows you to track stats during the game, so you can display sports-specific statistical information without having to do any of the graphic-design.
Even better is that there is no need to buy LiveText or DataLink. We work with all versions of the Tricaster, no matter what software version you are running. As matter of fact we work with any studio-in-a-box systems and production switchers, so long as they have overlay/keying capabilities.
Everyday, over the next 7 days, I will be announcing a new feature of the latest version of ScoreKeepr leading up to its official release next Monday, November 3rd. On that day, you will be able to purchase, download, and install the software directly from our new website, cgscoreboard.com (http://cgscoreboard.com).
We know there are other solutions out there, that may better fit your needs, but there will be a free, fully-functional demo version, so you can try it out and make sure its up to your broadcast's standards before you buy. To all current users of ScoreKeepr, as a thank you for your support over the last year, we are offering a 100% FREE upgrade to the new software.
NEW FEATURES (Updated 10/27):
100% redesigned, customizable graphics! One of the biggest complaints about version 1.0 is that the user was stuck using our graphic set. This meant that every stations broadcast look exactly the same unless they wanted to order a custom version of the program.
In version 2.0 that all changes. Yes, you still have to use our scoreboard graphics, but they are 100% customizable to your broadcast's colors.
Take a look:

our flagship software has been used... in a professional context at the World Cup of Paintball.
And there, it was received quite well. In addition to webcast, the National X-Ball League (one of the two pro paintball leagues in the US) World Cup games were broadcast on closed circuit cable through the tournament's trade show. I overheard a number of people commenting on how good the production was - including that the score graphics looked sharp and professional. I take that to mean that they really stood-out, since these were paintball people, not video people saying it.
Though, I'm sure the custom DVEs from Corinthian Media Services contributed too :-)

ScoreKeepr 1.0 came with a stats management tool that had very basic functionality. It basically allowed you to store players so you could track their stats from within ScoreKeepr.
Well, with ScoreKeepr 2.0 comes a completely refreshed version of our stats management program, StatKeepr. With StatKeepr, we take away all the difficulty of managing player information for your broadcasts.
With StatKeepr all you have to do is boot it up and enter player information (bios and season statistics) in our easy to use manual mode.

But, we know some people out there are already tied to using Excel as a medium for managing rosters and stats. We wanted to make it easy on you too! You can now export your Excel file (as a CSV) and import it directly into the StatKeepr database all from the interface of StatKeepr.

Once your players are stored in the StatKeepr database, they are completely accessible from within ScoreKeepr and totally searchable. When a player's team is playing, that player will be available directly on the ScoreKeepr controller. You can then call any information you stored in advance, as well as the live stats you have been tracking during the game.

StatKeepr is included with all purchases of our advanced scoreboard modules (currently, football & basketball - hockey, baseball, lacrosse, soccer coming soon!).
This is one of those killer features that you have to play with to fully appreciate how powerful it is. From using it in broadcasts over the last 6-8 months, I can tell you, it makes your life SO much easier.

So yesterday we talked about the enhancements to StatKeepr, well today we are going to show you how this benefits ScoreKeepr even more than we tipped off to yesterday.
Now that you can store your players in advance using StatKeepr you can fully take advantage of its powerful database during your broadcasts. When we completely overhauled our graphic set, our philosophy was, give back screen real estate while also increasing the value of the information displayed on screen. StatKeepr + New Lower Thirds = MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Say I entered Princeton star wide receiver John Brimley into StatKeepr. Now when I call up his bio, it will map his position/# (depending on sport) and his team short name to his lower third. By displaying more than just his name, it lets the viewer gets a better sense of who they are looking at on screen.
Also, those who have used ScoreKeepr in the past may notice that we changed the way bio information displays to "Height Weight Yr | Hometown, State (Former School)". We tested a few different formats and this is the one people liked the best.
This feature isn't a game changer like StatKeepr, but to be able to display more valuable information to your viewers without any extra effort and without taking up additional screen real estate is just the type of thing that gets us excited at GurwinProductions.

Thanks Steve! We really want to release a Windows version, and we have been saying all along that we will. We have an internal build that runs on Windows, but there are issues with flickering due to the way the Windows IDE works. We will not attempt to release the software until we get that all figured out.
So in short, priority number one right now is to continue to build the ScoreKeepr core, but a Windows version is on the horizon.

Happy Halloween!
Just a quick note since many have asked me privately. The trial of ScoreKeepr 2.0 will be available starting Monday, November 3rd at www.cgscoreboard.com.
On to the feature update:
One of the enhancements we wanted to make in ScoreKeepr 2.0 was a consistent, streamlined interface for all our scoreboard controllers. We felt that our basketball scoreboard was the closest to our vision, so we built off of that design. Stats on the left, sports-specific features in the middle, and score & master control on the right.
We've taken this philosophy and redone the interfaces of all three of our current scoreboard controllers and have applied it to our upcoming versions hockey/lacrosse, baseball, and soccer scoreboards.
For those broadcasting multiple sports, this will make your life a whole lot easier since you will know where the buttons are regardless of what sport you are broadcasting.
Take a look at our football interface:

Looks Great!
Have five potential customers anxiously awaiting a pc version.
F.Y.I. most of the schools, corporate, and government in AZ are often sadly PC only to the world.
Even though they often have MAC labs!
Go figure!

Its been 6 months now and I was wondering when the PC version will come out. I am the TV studio tech for a large county in Florida and all we have in the district is PCs. Getting the tech department to purchase a MAC would take an act of congress.
There are 7 highschools here. Thats >$7000 of potential income for your comapny if you could just make a PC version.
We use LT Scoreboards : http://www.krisgurrad.com/LT_scoreboards.html
All you need is a copy of LiveText and LT Scoreboards and you are good to go. Works great, and since it uses LiveText you don't lose a camera input like you do with ScoreKeepr.
Check out any of our basketball games from last season to see it in action. http://www.valleyls.org/athletics/vsn/vsn.php?FILE=http://www.valleyls.org:8081/LiveVideo
