View Full Version : OT: Firefox problem with this site and other Vbulletin sites

In the thread menus, I get these tool-tip-like pop-up messages when my mouse pointer hovers over a thread line for more than a second. It contains the first part of the text of the subject, as a preview. (See screenshot attachment)

I'm sure other Firefox users have noticed this, so I wonder if there's any way to turn it off? It drives me nuts - I hate it with every fiber of my being.

It doesn't happen with IE, so I guess it must be a Firefox thing, and it doesn't happen at phpBB sites, only vBulletin, it seems, like this site.

Anyone know if it can be done away with? I've searched all through the FF options, to no avail.
Thanks. :)

You don't like that? I always thought it was kind of handy. What I hate is how it disappears before I've finished reading it.

Well, we all have our preferences, I guess. I can see how it's useful, definitely, but it just irritates me. Hard to explain, but it's like fingernails on a chalkboard, or, more appropriately, like when Windows has something it really wants me to know, like an update, and keeps flashing it in my face. ;)

It does happen with IE ... IE 7 that is.

... and yeah, I hate them as well:)

It's a vBulletin thing, not a browser thing. And apparently there is no way to turn it off.

Anyone using IE8 (beta)? I can't use the pull downs (like Search, Quick Links on this page).
