Work Very Much In Progress :)
This is an attempt at a Justice League Animated Series style superhero body. It's actually the third go I've had...
Haven't attached the arms yet (and I'm not yet sure how!), or the hands (but I know how that's going to work).
Then I'm going to have to do the face... Another bit I'm a bit worried about...

Before even readiing what you wrote, I took a quick glimpse at the image and a superhero in the Bruce Timm style was my most immediate thought. I'm a huge fan of Batman:TAS, JLU and most of the stuff between and I think you are off to a great start.

Unless you do the head as a separate mesh it doesn't look like you're going to have much geometry to play with. Maybe you're doing mostly a texture map type face? I'd be curious to see how that plays out. I've gone down that path a few times and never got results I cared for. Mostly because I'm a crappy texture artist I think. :) Like the overall look though.

Well, there is the joy of bandsaw, smooth shift, and extender plus...
I agree, though. I may have a go as it is, see what happens, then scrub it and start a new head from scratch :) It's all learning...

I usually separate the neck and head from the rest of the body, just so I can add in more details without too much disruption.
You can hide the seem using clothes or cape.
